1. DIY Lemon Foot Scrub

This recipe was inspired by Happy Mothering, and I really love how precise it is. They specialize in natural living, and you can check out their recipes and other beauty hacks.

Here are the steps to prepare a DIY lemon foot scrub

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, mix the Epsom salt and sugar until they form a uniform mixture. Slowly add your coconut oil until the mixture is smooth (if you achieve the smooth mixture, you don’t have to use the whole cup of coconut oil).
  2. Add honey to the mixture, and continue stirring.
  3. And then, add the essential oil, so the scent is uniformly distributed.
  4. Store your scrub in an airtight jar for your next spa day.

If you do your foot scrub before bed, moisturize your feet and put on socks, and you’ll wake up feeling wonderful with your feet looking and feeling great.

2. Foot Scrub with Essential Oils

I love this foot scrub because it helps with cleansing the feet, removing bad odor, cooling down, and energizing the feet, just to mention a few.

This recipe works because all ingredients are carefully chosen. Here is what each ingredient does:

  • Foaming bath butter is rich in glycerin, which helps in moisturizing the skin.
  • The lavender essential oil has anti-inflammatory properties and is great for all skin types.
  • Lemongrass essential oil has fungicidal properties and is a natural remedy for athletes’ feet and other fungal infections.
  • Peppermint essential oil. It has a tingling effect that cools and relaxes feet.

Here is how to make the foot scrub.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Whip your butter using a hand mixer until it turns fluffy
  2. Add mica powder and continue whipping the mixture
  3. In a different bowl, mix all your essential oils and the almond oil to form a uniform mixture
  4. Add the scrub to your butter mix, and whip some more
  5. Pack your foot scrub into airtight jars

This recipe was inspired by DIY Beauty Base, and the results were absolutely amazing. I will definitely be trying it again.

Here is another quick DIY version.

3. Milk and Sugar Foot Scrub

I got this recipe from bebeautiful.in, and I love its simplicity. If you’re in a rush. Or not in the moody for a lengthy DIY, then this recipe will do.

The foot scrub works because milk has lactic acid, which helps break down dead cells to reveal your glowing skin.

On the other hand, sugar gets rid of any impurities in your feet.

Directions

  1. Mix milk and sugar in the same quantities (2-3 cups each)
  2. Add it to your pedicure basin and soak your feet.
  3. In a different bowl, mix sugar and coconut oil and use it to scrub off the mixture.
  4. Wash and moisturize your feet and wear socks to lock in the moisture

Here is another simple version.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should you scrub your feet?

This really depends on your lifestyle and foot care routine. If you spend most of your time wearing socks and you moisturize your feet often, then thrice a month is fine. But generally, if you’re into skincare routines, twice a week works great. I personally do it twice a week.

What is a good scrub?

There are multiple foot scrubs in the market. Keep an open mind and use the most recommended products. Alternatively, go for the DIY options.

What is the best feet exfoliator?

The most used feet exfoliators are sugar and salt, but you can also use almond paste or coffee beans.

FINAL WORDS

When was the last time you pampered your feet? Are they soft as a baby’s bum or they’re terribly hard and rough? (no judgments, I’ve been there)

If you fall in the last group, it’s time to do something about your feet.

And you don’t have to wait for the grand spa day with your friends that happen once or twice a year.

You can use a few ingredients and use one of the DIY foot scrubs discussed in this post.
