Bundled Up for a Blizzard

Blizzard Fashion

If you’ve turned on your TV or radio lately, you may have noticed that New England just got hit by a huge blizzard, which left behind about two feet of snow in Boston. I haven’t seen this much snow from one storm in over ten years, which, OK, makes me feel kind of old. Though my husband and I have been stuck in our apartment for most of yesterday and all of today, I went outside this afternoon to capture a few photos to share.

Snowy Road

Snowy Road

Today my nextdoor neighbors were outside with their golden retriever, throwing snowballs into the blanketed yard. The dog chased the snowballs, attempting to fetch them while bounding through the snow the same way a dog would swim in water. Definitely the highlight of my day, if not my week!

I stayed bundled up in a pair of Cougar boots, which I bought two years ago on a trip to Seattle, along with a brand new Columbia jacket my mom sent me the day before. (Does she have good timing or what?) And, of course, topped the look off with NYX’s Matte Lipstick in Perfect Red.

Did you get any snow this weekend? How do you stay warm and fashionable in the snow?

  1. Month after this post. Still accurate: Bundled up for a Blizzard http://t.co/j1e9EbZDBs

  2. How beautiful snow looks. Deceptively calm. No blizzards for me- so I’ll stop griping about the Seattle greys.Stay warm, lovely Courtney!

    • It is indeed deceptively calm! The blizzard turned Boston upside down and have been acting crazy all week. I think it’s supposed to warm up this weekend, so hopefully the snow will be gone and people can go back to being regular crazy instead of blizzard crazy.

  3. I don’t even try to stay stylish in the snow. All I want is to be warm and comfortable for a walk – the style will come back when there is less snow on the ground and I can wear high heels.
Luckily, we don’t get much snow here (the luckily part comes from me living 4 years in Buffalo, NY, and seeing enought snow to last me for another 30 years).
I really like your jacket, and the red lips are really noticeable!

    • I give up after some time! But I’m on the same page as you–I just wanna be warm!

I almost went to school in Syracuse, but I can’t imagine now how that would’ve been. One blizzard is enough.

  4. Wow look at all that snow! Stay warm!
I find it very hard to stay fashionable in cold weather – at some point you just forget about style in the quest to stop yourself freezing! I’ve linked to my last snowy outfit below for my last efforts when it was snowing in London (but that wasn’t anything compared to a blizzard!)

    • I totally agree! In the beginning of winter, I’m super into being fashionable when it’s cold, but after the first month, it’s all downhill!

Your outfit is perfect! And silly me, I’ve been so behind on my blog reading that I didn’t even realize that you linked to my post! Reading what you wrote was really touching and I’m so glad you went for it with the red lipstick. You look gorgeous, as always.
