I have to admit that after I developed an allergy to eyeshadow last month, I’ve become obsessed with two things: Blush and nail polish. After working my way through the August issues of Vogue, InStyle and Self, I’m ready to put my money on what nail polish colors will be trending this fall: White and Royal Blue.
Let’s Talk About White Polish
If you follow me on Twitter, then you already know I am hopelessly addicted to ABC’s The Bachelor/ette, and Emily Maynard’s season was no exception. Emily did lots of crying, and maybe I’m the only one who noticed her nail polish as she tried to stop her mascara from running. She cried a lot, so I hope saying this doesn’t make me sound cold hearted! In any case, I became rather obsessed with white nail polish after seeing it on her throughout the last season of The Bachelorette. Though the color appeared white on television, the rumor is Maynard’s color is actually Essie’s Fiji, which is actually a very pale pink shade.
I also spotted a similar Nails, Inc shade in the August issue of Vogue (watch the video below for the exact shoot I’m referring to), but this shade had more of a grey cast to it. The second I saw this shade on the model, I thought, “I must have this now!” Just my luck that the actual color isn’t listed, but my best guess is that it could be Nails Inc’s Floral Street.
All About Blue
I hope you’re not getting sick of Kate Middleton fashion yet because she’s certain to be a permanent fashion fixture for oh, say, the next 30 years. That’s why it should come as no surprise that the royal blue colors that are popping up in magazines this fall will also translate into nail trends. Royal blue nail polish is perfect for those who aren’t super trendy, but want to breathe some sort of (affordable) life into their fall wardrobe. Might I recommend Essie’s Mesmerized?
What Will You Be Wearing On Your Nails This Fall?
White? Or blue? Or are you a classic red person? I’m somewhat obsessed with both white and blue nail polish, so these trends work for me! Share your thoughts!
